Exercise Lowers Colon Cancer Risks. Fact. According to the IDEA Fitness Journal in a study published by the British Journal of Cancer, regular exercisers are 24% less likely to develop colon cancer than those who exercise the least. Lead author of the study, Kathleen Y. Wolin, Sc.D. said, "There is an ever-growing body of evidence that the behavior choices we make affect our cancer risk. Physical activity is at the top of the list of ways to reduce your risk of colon cancer."

According to an article in HealthDay News, researchers found that practicing yoga may contribute to better eating habits and healthier weight. Regular yoga practitioners were associated to "mindful eaters" who have a better understanding of hunger and fullness and are less likely to binge eat and become obese. "Mindful eating is a skill that augments the usual approaches to weight loss, such as dieting, counting calories and limiting portion sizes," the lead researcher said.
