1 t olive oil
2 c chopped mushrooms
1 c chopped onion
1/2 c chopped green bell pepper
1/4 c chopped celery and carrot each
2 garlic cloves, minced
6 oz ground turkey breast
6 oz ground round
1/4 c ketchup
1 T red wine vinegar
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1 t dried oregano
1/4 t salt and pepper each
1-8 oz can no-salt added tomato sauce
6 (1 1/2 oz) whole wheat hamburger buns, toasted
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and next
7 ingredients (mushrooms through ground round); saute 5 minutes until meat
is browned, stirring to crumble. Stir in ketchup and next 6 ingredients (ketchup
through tomato sauce); bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes,
stirring occasionally. Serve on toasted buns. Six servings.
