Is exercise necessary? The next logical question would be “necessary for what?” Do you need it to lose weight, lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, regulate or reverse diabetes, to manage stress, to feel alive? The answer is Yes!!!
While exercise on its own may not be the answer to everything, it is certainly a necessary component along with a healthy diet to aid in all of the above. For most of us, we will benefit from exercise in numerous ways and there just isn’t a reason not to exercise at the level that is appropriate for us given our health risks, abilities and goals.
If you are having trouble getting started, engage the help of a friend, a personal trainer or find a group that will help keep you motivated. If you don’t start now, you will be wishing you did next year when you realize a whole year went by and you didn’t reach any of your health and wellness goals.
