Carla’s Reality – Naperville Woman Loses over 100 Pounds!
For me, weight has always been an issue that frustrated and discouraged me. My own life-long struggle with obesity has made me sensitive to the challenges of committing to the changes necessary for a healthy lifestyle.
In my lifetime, I’ve been on hundreds of diets and seen just as many nutrition specialists and dieticians. Until now, I have always had the same results. I would lose a few pounds, get frustrated, quit and regain all the weight plus a few extra pounds to reach a new all-time high.
The Secret to My Success
After life had thrown me a few curve balls, it was time to reevaluate the direction that my life was going and make some permanent life-style changes. A few years ago, I began another weight loss program – this time with a change in attitude.
I discovered that a healthier life-style does not have to be about deprivation and failure. In fact, healthy living is all about taking control of your life and making changes to better yourself. I also discovered that fitness can be fun.
I Love It!
Fitness is not something that comes naturally to me. After my initial attitude change, I lost 125 pounds. Realizing the positive effects that my attitude and lifestyle change made on me both physically and emotionally, I chose to make a mid-life career change that would allow me to work with individuals to help them realize their own “realities!”
Not without its own struggles, and with a lot of mentoring and encouragement from some great trainers, I became a certified personal trainer. This has made all the difference and I love what I do!!
I believe that everyone’s “reality” is different and my job as a trainer is to help each client reach their personal goals whether it’s to run a marathon or get down on the floor to play with their kids or grandchildren.
One Size Fits All?
There is not “one size fits all” when it comes to nutrition or physical activity. Getting to know my client’s helps me work with them to set each of their goals based on their individual lifestyle and desired levels of change. My results are proof that it’s never too late to start a new, good habit, and to change your life for the better.
I’m here to inspire, motivate and ignite a fire in clients who have a desire to regain control in their lives by prioritizing their own health and well-being so that they can live their best life ever. Anything of value requires commitment and hard work, but the results are endless.
